We teamed up with Jessi Lea to bring you the DIY Ukulele Workshop. Lea is Whale Gulch School’s Music Teacher with over 15 year’s experience and a Bachelor Degree in Music from Ithaca, New York to Lea also performs as Hera Has a Heart, which recently released their Second Concept Album, The Moon.
Join us as we assemble, decorate and learn to play the ukulele. The Ukuele is a great instrument to learn if you have never played music before and it is not just for playing Hawaiin music. One of the first songs Lea learned on the uke was "Stairway to Heaven".
Have your own Ukulele and just want lessons? Join us at 1pm each day after we’ve worked on putting our ukuleles together. Jessi will give each guest a one hour lesson for each day of the workshop. Cost for this is $75.
Looking for something a little different and a lot of fun for Father’s Day? We’ll let the games begin! We’re excited to start yet another tradition with Ping Pong and Papas, a bracketed table tennis tournament. Join traveling artist, Jessica Willis for a painting class at Gyppo June 26th from 4-6:30. All materials and first beverage included. Leave with an acrylic painting of your own! You will learn 4 basic concepts of painting so you can use them in the future...composition, perspective, color theory and value. Leave with new knowledge for your own artistic journey.
Jessica is an expressive landscape painter who creates work on location during hiking, fishing and camping trips. We will be painting a local landscape using lots of exciting colors and expressive brush strokes.

What child doesn't dream of sitting behind the wheel of a fire truck? At Touch-a-Truck those dreams can become a reality! Touch-a-Truck is a family-friendly outdoor event that takes place at the Gyppo Ale Mill, Friday June 28th from Noon to 4pm. Kids of any age enjoy exploring the Shelter Cove Volunteer Fire Department fire truck. Parents have the opportunity to learn about both our local fire department and our co-host the Southern Humboldt Family Resource center.
Touch-a-Truck will be rolling into town before you know it! We hope to see you there!
Do you all know about the Garberville Town Square? This organization is awesome. They have created a public space where people can relax and children can play in a stress and traffic free space. Have you been to Friday’s Farmers Market. So much fun! Come raise a pint and some ka-ching for this nonprofit organization.
How it works: Between the hours of 2-6PM on Wednesday July 10th. When you come in a drink a refreshing, crisp Gyppo Ale Mill beer, we’ll donate not just one dollar per pint by two dollars. Plus, we put out nifty little hinged tins that you can slip a buck or two into for them as well.

Above and Beyond Creations along with the Gyppo Ale Mill invite you to join us in the Gyppo beer garden Thursday, July 18th. For our first movie, we’ll be showing Spaceballs, a family favorite! With the BeerStream just a few feet away to quench your thirst and the delicious possibilities of our dinner menu, who needs super-sized soft drinks or artificial butter flavoring? Movies start 15 minutes after sunset. Get here on the early side! Space will fill up quick. Make sure to dress warm and bring blankets and chairs. Suggested Donation of $5.
