TAP ROOM AND RESTAURANT

CURRENT HOURS:
Thursday through Sunday 12AM to 9PM

The Gyppo Ale Mill is Shelter Cove’s first & ONLY craft brewery and taproom. It has long been a dream of ours to combine our love for beer, family and community. This dream has had it’s ups and down but it is a dream that we hold strong to.

Our goals for the Gyppo Ale Mill is to server you kick-ass quality beers, superb food humbly served in a warm and friendly space. If you know us than you’ll know that family is extremely important part of who we are. Integrating our family into this project is just a part of how we do things. If you are looking for a new nightclub or all night dive bar, we’re sorry to disappoint. That will not be us. If you are looking for a place kick up your heels, see some familiar friendly faces, eat some quality food and wash it down with a good beer, then we’re on the same page.

We serve Clam Chowder every day, all day. We also sprinkle in lunch specials when we can. Our dinner menu starts at 5pm.

Thanks so much for stopping by and Cheers to an Independent & Freewheeling life!

Fresh Salmon. Check. Tap Beer. Check. Shelter Cove. Check!

The Gyppo Ale Mill is proud to be pouring beers for the Taste of the Cove, a family-friendly fundraiser for Heart of the Redwoods Community Hospice. The event takes place from 1pm to 5pm on September 3rd, at the very scenic Mal Coombs park with the Cape Mendocino lighthouse as the backdrop.

If you have never been to this event, you’ll want to mark you calendar for this one.  The generous fisherman from around the community donates mouth-watering salmon to this feed.  A crew of volunteer chefs, loving christened, The Flaming Chefs and Bread Babes BBQ it up, along with an array of sides.  The cost of the event is $30 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under.  Of course 5 and under is free.

For the second year in a row, the event will also offer champagne and oysters.  For an additional price, the lovely Heather Kornberg has procured Humboldt finest bivalves for your eating pleasure.  These are of course paired with some delicious sparkling wine.

We are very excited to have purchased a 4 tap CO2 pressured tap beer dispenser.  We tested it out at LarissaRichardson’s Humboldt Junkies this spring.  It worked perfectly. We are in the midst of deciding what beers we’ll have on tap, but as soon as we decide we’ll let you know.

Please share this event with your friends.  The Heart of the Redwoods Community Hospice is almost completely funded by our generous community.  And volunteering is good for the heart.  Contact the HRCH office for more details, (707) 923-7276

Cheers!
